* Contribute to transforming the future of health as a Co-Lead within our National Clinical Networks * Be based in any part of Aotearoa NZ * The plan to establish 20 Networks has been confirmed with Co-Leads for eight of those having been announced since October 2023. * We are now seeking expressions of interest to be Co-Leads of the following National Clinical Networks: * Rural Health * Urology * Vascular Surgery * Applications are open until 9 May 2024.Status of other National Clinical Network EOIs * EOIs to be Co-Leads of Radiology, Critical Care and Infections Services Networks have also reopened after one role for each Network was unfilled following the initial process. This is mahi that will improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it.National Clinical Networks are a vital clinical enabler of the new health system we are building. They involve health professions from across the system working with whānau and consumers to influence how we prioritise, drive system change, and remove unwarranted variation through the development of national standards and models of care. Clinicians across the motu have a critical role to play in shaping the new health system, ensuring we embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi as fundamental to the mahi we provide, address inequities that are within our system and deliver improved outcomes for the whānau and communities we serve. Te Pae Tata identifies the establishment of national networks as a key step in removing unwarranted variations in access to care, waiting times and clinical practice.National Clinical Networks will be grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and all roles will involve co-leadership and partnership with Health New Zealand's Hauora Māori Services Group. This group has been established to accommodate the transition of Te Aka Whai Ora and ensure their valuable work continues. All National Clinical Networks will be led by dedicated Clinical Co-Leads and consist of a broader National Clinical Network membership to deliver improved outcomes for patients and whānau.The Hauora Māori Services Group will appoint one Co-Lead, in the same way that Te Aka Whai Ora did, ensuring the intended co-leadership continues.The Hauora Māori Services Group will also provide Co-Leads the vital connection to one another, Māori health leadership and insights into their programmes and priorities to support them carry out this important part of their role.The National Clinical Network Co-Lead is a funded position to 0.2 FTE (up to 0.4 FTE across the two positions). The initial term of the Co-Lead roles is two years, and you may be based in any part of Aotearoa NZ. You will be supported by a wider programme team to deliver on the work programme of the National Clinical Network. On appointment, you will lead the appointment of the wider National Clinical Network membership with your Co-Lead.The Expression of Interest process for appointment to a National Clinical Network Co-Lead is: * * Provide a cover letter setting out your interest in the position. Your letter should state which network you are interested in co-leading and indicate whether you see yourself being a Health NZ or Hauora Māori Services Group appointee, or both. * Submit a short (max 2 pages) resume of your career highlights as it pertains to Rural Health, Urology or Vascular Surgery and your leadership experience. * Applicants who are shortlisted for interview may be asked to submit a short power point presentation. Further details of this will be provided after shortlisting.Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with a panel nominated by the National Clinical Networks. This interview will be by video conference.Mōu | About youA practicing clinician who is an approachable and collaborative leader with a broad understanding of health systems and professional and contextual knowledge to bring sector insights and understanding to the National Clinical Network forNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceAs a National Clinical Network Co-Lead for Rural Health, Urology or Vascular Surgery, you will be accountable for development and delivery of the national work programme and will: * Be a practising clinician who provides local &/or regional professional and clinical governance leadership for Rural Health, Urology or Vascular Surgery * Be invested in your own cultural competency & enact Te Tiriti by holding the National Clinical Network and health system to account, driving opportunities for service improvement that leads to equal health outcomes for Māori * Be an approachable, collaborative leader ensuring the people you work with feel heard and empowered * Use your broad understanding of health systems and your professional and contextual knowledge to bring sector insights and understanding to the National Clinical Network for Rural Health, Urology or Vascular Surgery * Be highly connected to inter-professional teams and the wider sector with the credibility and capability to be a ‘leader of leaders' * Recognise the skills and contribution of our kaimahi at all parts of the patient pathway in your speciality * Be committed to eliminating unwarranted variation and pursuing equity in health care across the motu and utilising your communication, negotiating and influencing skills to build consensus amongst stakeholdersKa kawea e koe | You will bring: * A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
