Mō te tūranga | About the role
The Critical Care unit at Southland Hospital is entering an exciting time. Additional funding has led to the establishment of specific CCU roles in the Allied Health Professions. You will work as a team to develop an interprofessional service within the 6 bedded Unit. It is more important that you enjoy working in an acute, fast paced environment and are ready and willing to further develop your skills and knowledge in this space.
The remainder of your role will be spent working in the acute medical and surgical wards, where you'll have the opportunity to assess and treat wide range of conditions with surgical, orthopaedic, medical, neurological needs. You will also work with our less experienced staff including our new graduate rotators providing clinical supervision and mentoring to help them to develop as occupational therapists.
Within both areas you will lead service development and quality improvement.
