We have a permanent position for an Offender Recruitment Consultant based in Whangarei.
The purpose of the Offender Recruitment Consultant is to reduce reoffending by providing offenders with the opportunity to gain sustainable employment and/or an education pathway.
In this role you will work with the job seekers, their support networks and employers to overcome any barriers to finding and keeping work. This will include establishing an education/qualification profile for your job seeker and designing a personalised career pathway for each, engaging whanau to support this.
You will explore links and connections with local providers for the delivery of courses, and follow up with your learners to ensure they remain engaged. Your work will require you to build relationships with employers and industry partners in order to provide sustainable work options for your job seekers.
In addition you will work collaboratively with other Corrections staff in both Prisons and Community to ensure the client is supported and all parties are working to the same goal. The ability to build trust and influence as a specialist is paramount.
No two days will be the same as you also develop and maintain broad employer networks, using account management models and commercial acumen to support the Department. You will be people centric, have a high level of integrity and be a great verbal and written communicator. You will be highly target orientated and possess good computer literacy.
You will need to be able to engage with businesses so a sound background in networking and business relationship development would be ideal as will the ability to maintain these key relationships. Having excellent organisation and time management skills are critical to completing this busy and varied role.
