About the roleThe Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of our Alice Springs Depot which is a critical link to the Team Global Express regional network in the Northern Territory.The role is responsible for safety, performance, resourcing and team leadership across the branch. This includes overseeing all activities and operational resources associated with the branch to achieve agreed objectives. Critical to this role is the ability to oversee daily activities and hold team members to account.This position plays an important role in achieving daily KPI’s and identifying / actioning process improvements, along with engaging support from other functional leads.What you’ll doEfficiently and effectively manage the operations of our Alice Springs branch in accordance with the Global Express business plan to achieve service excellence within established timeframes and cost guidelines.
Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved though complete and accurate documentation, professional handling of freight, achieving delivery times and meeting and exceeding service standards.
With responsibility for overall property and equipment maintenance you will ensure that activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Develop support and maintain an engaged, professional, and motivated team ensuring that the climate in the workplace is one of
harmony/teamwork/high
morale leading to high quality performance.
What you’ll bringWith previous leadership experience in logistics or transport industry you are a confident, self-motivated outgoing individual with an ability to work well under pressure to prioritise competing issues in a busy but positive working environment.You will possess strong communication skills with proven ability to engage and foster relationships and provide a quality seamless service on behalf of the business.Key skills we are looking for:Demonstrated ability to understand a broad range of transport and distribution issues and identify specific business operational impacts.
Commercially focused with strong business acumen and ability to understand a broad range of transport and distribution issues.
Problem solving and commitment to
Continuous Improvement .
Proficient in use of logistics software to track and manage freight.
Solid working knowledge of freight scanning process and hardware.
A sound knowledge of freight handling and pallet requirements.
Sound knowledge of Dangerous Goods, Chain of Responsibility and Load restraint fundamentals.
Thorough understanding of OH&S and safety related policies and procedures - Site Safety Rules.
Good geographical knowledge of WA and National Depots and Agents.
Ability to prioritise workload and achieve results through people.
