We are looking for someone with years of experience in a manufacturing/trade environment - who is looking for their 'gig', to get stuck into for the next 10-20 years until they're ready to quieten down. Between now and that day though, we want the best from you.This role is ideally suited to someone who has been in a production management role in a trade industry for a number of years, but now wants to spend less time on the tools. We've worked with brilliant production leaders before - so we'll know when we've found the right person. You'll be one of those people that love working with their hands, are bloody good at it, know that your work is first class, and have built your career around it. You've probably only had 3 jobs in your life and former employers have found it very hard to replace you. The role is definitely not suited to someone who has spent the last 10+ years in a corporate or desk based role, thinks they'll be able to fudge their way through, or thinks they're a quick learner so can come in without having done 1-2 decades on the tools.We print things, so related experience in that is very helpful, but not necessary - we'd love to tailor the role to you. What this is about is getting things done, getting the most out of the machines, taking care of clients, and leading by example.You'll have a diverse range of responsibilities - everything from setting up new production systems, running machines, estimating, looking after clients (on the phone and in person), maintenance and training new staff. You'll even need to pack a few boxes… and if you've not worked with graphics, will need to learn that too.We have a very experienced leadership team with an average each of 20 years in print - all having run their own businesses. You will need to be able to keep up with us - you'll need to be energetic, accurate, responsible, have an owner mindset and the experience to boot. When we're operating a semi automatic machine, we joke about putting up a scoreboard to see who of us can get the speed records (while adhering to H&S) - we love getting stuck in & getting things done. You'll enjoy working with customers as well as getting amongst it in the factory. You will value teamwork, working with others, and know that in a small business everyone wears multiple hats and must be hands-on, flexible and responsive. Accordingly, you're happy to do what it takes to ensure we meet our goals.Your role is to lead the operational & production side of our business - in whatever form it becomes. The right-hand-person to our General Manager. You will need to be at a level where if they are away for a couple of weeks, you'll be able to cover for them… or when our other print operators are away - you'll run the printers yourself and you'll do whatever it takes to ensure we continue to hit our KPIs. Whatever it takes.
