Demand for physiotherapy services is growing and we are increasing our capacity to meet the needs of the communities we serve. We’ve secured additional posts and are excited to be in a position to advertise for additional team members.
One area where demand for physiotherapy services currently outstrips our capacity is within the Acute Medical Team. This role will sit mostly on our Oncology, Haematology and Renal Unit, and work to respond to a diverse range of clinical needs. Working alongside a physiotherapist with experience in this field, this is a good stepping stone to growing oncology knowledge. The wider oncology team are a passionate clinicians and welcome sharing their skills and experience through learning opportunities, internal study days and appropriate external courses. This role will also assist on the general medical wards, particularly during times of increase demand. The medical wards include the Medical Assessment and Planning Unit, General Medicine, Acute Frailty Unit and the High Dependency Bay.
Moū – About you
We’re looking for a physiotherapist with broad acute skills and a passion for acute care. Prior oncology and renal experience is not a requirement, but an interest in these areas is. You may be completing your rotations and keen to find a supportive working environment, or already have a good grounding in acute care. Working with a diverse group of patients with significant health needs, you’ll demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills and have a flexible, problem solving approach. Whilst this role is full time, for the right candidate we would be open to discuss part time hours.
We are enjoying growing as an experienced clinician team and developing our non-clinical skills. An appetite for developing and sharing your expertise and talents to build the best service for our patients would be awesome and complement our team’s vision.
We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds with the right skills and experience who share our values to apply and would greatly value seeing applicants from our Māori and Pacific Peoples communities and disabled physiotherapists . We’re commited to having a team that reflects our community and work hard to build cultural diversity and inclusivity as foundations to our team.
