Your Focus
The Plant Manager will provide direct management for the local production, quality, engineering, EH&S, supply chain & R&D departments.
The Plant Manager is responsible for operational activities in line with the strategy to achieve objectives relating to safety, quality, cost efficiency and productivity, production output, product and process development, volume and delivery feasibility.
How You Will Contribute
• Active, hands on management of the Ops organization
• Assure all Ops departments align & cooperate with the other departments on site (Finance, HR, Commercial departments and Procurement).
• Implementing best practices and projects that lead to and support world-class manufacturing environments.
• Provide leadership and guidance to develop and optimize a superior production organization with a focus on On Time Performance, Safety, Quality, Cost control and Continuous Improvement.
• Lead and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities that drive improved operational performance. Manage utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency
• Assure the sites adheres to global standards, SOP’s and procedures in the field of Quality, EH&S & CI
• Responsible for the Manufacturing budget of the site (Opex & Capex) Responsible for all the operational KPI’s in the field of cist, Quality, service & H&S
• Good people manager able to motivate the staff towards the Site goals while also dealing with people issues when they arise.
• Development and mentoring of key staff and prepare succession within all layers of the Ops organization
• Beside the day to day operations management, prepare the long term operational future of the site by preparing & executing investment plans to assure to company can fulfill its commercial ambitions. Assure the organization is capable of absorbing this growth & workload.
• Managing the S&OP process and assuring our customers get the best possible service
• Keeping an eye on technological innovation to assure our assets stay up to date
• Translating the Operating plan for this site into specific plans for Production, Supply Chain, Quality & maintenance/ engineering together with your direct reports
Job Requirements
What you will need to be successful
Essential Skills and Experience
• Masters Degree in Chemistry, Food processing, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
• 5 – 10 years of relevant management and industry experience in a (Food) manufacturing environment
• Hands on experience in delivering successful small and large scale projects
• Customer (internal and external) service mentality
• Strong communicator and vision orientated.
• Good financial understanding, strong with numbers
• Comfortable with the concept of accountability
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Fluent in English
• Experience working in or with a multinational company
• Background in Lean Manufacturing Principals
Preferred:
• Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Food Processing
• Food Safety and Hygiene knowledge
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Sig Sigma etc.
• Experience working in a matrix organization
• Experience working in or with a US multinational company
