The greater Auckland region has three Te Whatu Ora districts and four varied teaching hospitals (North Shore, Waitakere, Auckland City and Middlemore). By joining the Auckland Region as a Chemical PathologyRegistrar, you will be joining an exciting sub-specialty in Pathology, surrounded by a team of talented and supportive professionals. You will gain comprehensive experience in the technical analysis of different biomarkers in biological fluids and in their applications in clinical medicine. There will also be opportunities in research and development of new tests.
Our training programme
The New Zealand training programme is run through the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). To find our more information about the College, please click here. The Auckland region is accredited for the entire five years of the required RCPA training as trainee will be rotated between 2 accredited training centres (Auckland Hospital laboratory and Middlemore Hospital laboratory).
