You will play a pivotal role in supporting the production team and wider business, managing the entire production lifecycle.As Production Planner, your core focus for this role will be to develop and maintain forward production plans, actively balancing the variables of demand and capacity, and liaising with various departments such as Production, Sales, and Procurement, to ensure customer satisfaction, timely processing of orders, and optimal management of stock levels (e.g. raw material availability). Day to day duties will include overseeing order placement, manufactural timeframes, logistics, monitoring delivery of the production plans, adjusting them to stock flows where necessary, and clearly communicating requirements and amendments to stakeholders where necessary in a timely manner. This role is a permanent full-time position and will be based at our Taumarunui site office. About you:Our team operates with a high level of collaboration, so someone who is a natural communicator and true ‘team player’ is a must to ensure the smooth flow of information sharing across multiple departments.To be successful in this role you will ideally come with experience in production planning in a manufacturing based environment and will be a confident liaison between namouras internal and external stakeholders.Confidence using Excel is essential and having had experience in navigating ERP/MRP systems would be a plus. The successful candidate will have a passion for working to achieve high levels of optimisation.Key Job / Responsibilities Forward Production Planning Coordinate and lead weekly Planning Meetings Developing insightful production forecasting metrics.Coordinating production operations, aligning them with material, labour, and equipment availability.Managing production schedules to meet production deadlines and ensure customer expectations are met. Taking Health and Safety policies or protocols into consideration when planning or scheduling various onsite activities including labour requirements. Flagging any potential issues with the H&S Coordinator and/or HR. Life cycle management of production orders to suppliers, both overseas and localCommunicating status updates on production orders to customersStrong collaboration with sales to ensure a clear understanding of customer requirements. Strong collaboration with Procurement to ensure maintenance of raw material and product stock levels to meet production requirements.Rigorous customer focus with a proven ability to take total ownership for issues raised and work through solutions that are best for businessLeadership attitude, delegating tasks and keeping the team running smoothly.Troubleshooting production issues as they ariseContinuous Improvement – Regularly assess and implement changes that improve our systems, delivery and/or help to exceed customer expectations. Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and understanding of purchasing within a manufacturing environment.Prior experience in production planning within a multi-site or multi-line operation environment would be highly beneficial.3 - 5 years experience as a production planner. Experience using ERP/MRP systemsThorough understanding of health and safety protocolsThe ability to evaluate options using both quantitative and qualitative data.Strong computer and technical skills with strong proficiency in ExcelSound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software.Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders. High level of attention to detail. What’s on our doorstep?Mountains, forests, rivers, and lakes.
