Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Te Toka Tumai-Auckland National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). The Programme was launched in December and now requires an experienced operations manager to plan and maintain the services required to deliver a safe and effective bowel screening programme to the eligible population residing within the Te Toka Tumai -Auckland boundaries.
Bowel screening aims to find cancers early when they can be successfully treated. People who are diagnosed with early-stage bowel cancer and who receive treatment early have a 90% chance of long term survival.
The NBSP is strongly equity focussed and is committed to achieving equity of participation for the priority Maori and Pacific populations. Achieving equity requires culturally competent development and delivery of community awareness raising and communications activities as well as culturally safe services along with the diagnostic component of the screening pathway..
