The Role
The Hospital is a 246 bed Regional hospital providing secondary care services to a population of approximately 194,000. Due to the geography of the region, the hospital also provides services to a large rural region. The psychiatry programme offers rotations in acute inpatient psychiatry, community adult psychiatry, Māori mental health, rural psychiatry, child and youth mental health, liaison psychiatry and psychiatry for older adults. There is an active clinical training programme with didactic sessions, interactive based teaching, journal club and video conferencing.
