We have two fixed term, full-time intern psychology positions,working 40 hours per week.
iCAMHS is a specialist mental health team, providing assessment andtreatment for people up to age 18 with mental health problems which aremoderate-severe.
The role of the Intern Psychologist includes supervised andindependent experience in assessment, diagnosis, formulation and use of a rangeof psychological therapies.
iCAMHS has a multidisciplinary team consisting psychology, nursing,social work, OT & psychiatry. The psychology team of 9 includes both seniorand less experienced staff, and you will be well supervised. iCAMHS covers a wide area, including Nelson, Tasman, Golden Bay& Wairau.
The Intern position is offered as part of MOH support for thePsychology workforce. The successful applicant will be offered a 1.0 FTEposition for a full year, exact dates to be negotiated in accordance withcourse requirements.
You will receive a salary according to the APEX PsychologistsMECA Contract Intern Step 1 ($64,319 - $66,319). You will also be supported to continue the requirements of theircourse, including fulltime pay to support study leave during the year.
There will also be opportunities to attend extra specific trainingsas they occur through the year e.g. Intro to Clinical Supervision, suicideprevention etc. Interns will have a supervising senior psychologist to monitorand support them as they put their academic learning into clinical practise. Aswell, there are peer, MDT and professional meetings for case discussion andconsultation, and ongoing education on specific topics.

Applicantswill be enrolled in a Clinical or Child & Family Psychology programme, andhave completed the necessary pre-requisites to undertake their Intern year.
The successful candidate must be eligibleto work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
