The FMHS works across a continuum frominpatient to community settings utilisingNursing case management to meet consumer - s individual needs within amulti-disciplinary team framework, We are dedicated to developing goodworking therapeutic relationships with the person, their family / whanau and thewider health, corrections and justice systems.
Our aim is to provide a non-judgemental, holistic and culturallysensitive approach which provides choices to support people with a mentalillness to live a meaningfullife.
We place a strong emphasis onrisk management, psychiatric assessment and maintaining the privacy andconfidentiality for those in our care.
Te WhareMauriora (TheHouse of Life) is a 13 bed open Forensic Mental Health Rehabilitation wardwhere we work in partnership with consumers in their transition back to thecommunity.
We do thisby providing choices and individualised care that supports people with a mentalillness to live a meaningful life, and all the time assessing and managingrisk.
Te WhareManaaki (The House of Healing) is a 15 bed acute mediumsecure (locked) inpatient Forensic Mental Health Unit. People are primarilyadmitted via the Courts for a psychiatric assessment and possible treatment;
transferred from prison at the recommendation of the Forensic Prison Team, or thecommunity due to concerns around risk and indicators of major mental illness.
Te WhareHohou Roko (The House of Peace) is a 9 bed mediumsecure (locked) inpatient unitthat provides extended support which integrates risk management and recovery forthe person - s treatment.

The positions are based on a roster thus flexibility across all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) is imperative - the shifts follow a 4 days on, 2 days off roster pattern (for a full-time position-0.94 FTE).

Previous experience working within any area of mental health;
Self-motivated, flexible and solutions-focused;
Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
A current NZ Drivers License is essential for community positions;
