Are you interested in working with Tamariki, Rangitahi and their whānau – making a difference in their lives and future wellbeing?
We are looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Professional who has a sound understanding of Child Development across all domains to join our vibrant and dynamic Tauranga Child Mental Health Service (working with children aged 0 - 12 years).
In this role you will be working as a key worker clinician for children/Tamariki and their families/whānau. This is a very exciting time to join this team as we are forming an integrated approach to meet the community’s needs. Our team is committed to implementing high standard models of therapeutic treatment, as well as the necessary training and ongoing supervision that such pathways require.
You will become part of our multi-disciplinary team, who are solution focused, working in collaboration with paediatric department, child development service and our community.
This is a permanent, full-time position; however, we have flexible FTE and are open to applications from candidates looking for 0.8 – 1.0 FTE (32 – 40 hours per week).

The preferred candidate would be passionate and committed to providing Tangata Whai Ora focused care. The ability to work as an effective team member and demonstrate strong communication is essential to this position. You will need to have a calm and empathic approach, flexibility, and creativity in your care approach.
To be successful in this role you will be a Registered Mental Health Professional who has at least 2 years of experience and skills working with clients and whānau between the ages of 0 - 12 years. You will be experienced in a broad range of challenges, difficulties and distress associated with children and young people presenting acutely or within crisis situations.
You will also have an understanding of intergenerational trauma and attachment theory. The interventions you may be familiar with or trained in will be Theraplay; Wait, Watch, and Wonder; and Circle of Security (COSP).
