The Team: What we do

The Registered nurse provides care for patients across the lifespan with varying needs. Nursing staff work within a multidisciplinary team providing care 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Christchurch Emergency Department (ED) is the largest ED in the South island seeing more than 101,000 patients per year and covers a population catchment area of 500,000. It is a tier 6 level ED. We have a strong supportive multidisciplinary team which currently includes Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists on the NP pathway. The Role: Where you fit it

  • You will have at least two years validated clinical expertise in an acute care environment and hold a current practicing certificate
  • Your expert communication, interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage people at all levels will see you work effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of teams to provide advanced clinical care and nursing expertise to the patients and their families/whanau
