What will you be doing?
The Registered Nurse (RN) role is to meet the needs of people and whanau accessing services using contemporary nursing care which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, as is person/whānau centred, culturally appropriate and evidence-based. Quality improvement and patient safety is an important part of this role.
The RN will respond to the changing needs of Te Whatu Ora, performing other tasks as required. The RN is expected to contribute to the implementation of District and nursing goals and values, and to promote Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Capital, Coast
What do you need?
· To be a Registered Nurse
· Post registration education/learning (desirable) and experience relevant to the speciality area of intellectual disability/learning disability and/or mental health
· A minimum of 2 years relevant experience
· Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles
· A person-centred based approach to care
· Collaborative and ability to work as a team
· Ability to flex according to workload pressures and needs of people we support
· Have compassion, care and respect
· Be forgiving and non-judgemental
· Work in an evidenced based way
· Constantly seeking to learn, grow and understand
· A full driving licence
