Manaaki Support Services is a progressive reintegration based service and a leading provider of residential and community support services for tane across the central region. The Service In partnership with Department of Corrections, Manaaki Support Services, a part of Goodwood Park Healthcare Group, has opened a new transitional accommodation service in the Bay of Plenty, supporting tane to reintegrate into the community and build crime free lives. This is a very exciting and innovative service. Offering 12 months secure accommodation and support for 15 tane, with options for aftercare. The service aligns closely with the Department's Hokai Rangi strategy, and offer tane support to find employment, re-connect with whanau, develop essential life skills, support with AOD and other significant health issues, and to find long term secure accommodation. The service has a strong cultural component, and will support connections with whanau, marae, hapu and Iwi and relevant community organisations. We are also seeking to build long term sustainable support networks and to support tane to be full and active members of their community. The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced team leader to manage this new service. Although there is already a strong framework for the service both within Manaaki Support Service and in the Department of Corrections, this position will be key to the implementation of this vision, and shaping how the service is delivered on a day to day, month to month basis. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of reintegration service delivery. It is an opportunity to provide the intensity of wrap around supports, which will continue long enough to support tane to make permanent and life altering changes. The role We are looking for a strong, passionate and dynamic team leader, with a strong understanding of working in reintegration. Ideally you will have a Health/Social Work professional qualification, and/or experience in Corrections/Justice. You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead, inspire and develop a large and diverse staff team to deliver high quality support programmes and services. A key aspect of the role will be liaising with other local agencies including Probation, Prisons, WINZ, and other community organisations. Aiming to develop partnerships that ensure our tane are able to access all the appropriate services to meet their reintegration needs. The key tasks of this role include: Ensure service delivery is in accordance with contract requirements and legislation Demonstrate clear communication Ensure the implementation of the organisation's quality systems and relevant legislation – including audit preparation. Build Stakeholder relationships with Department of Corrections To provide leadership to ensure a positive working and learning environment. To ensure that the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi are supported and implemented in the delivery of services Build partnerships with local marae, hapu & iwi Our ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and attributes: A passion for community reintegration Understanding of Tikanga Pro-active problem solving, good time management and great organisational skills Able to work to deadlines, demonstrate resilience and maintain a positive attitude An annual practising certificate or professional registration or experience.
