The rural health servicesprovide a range of Inpatient, Day patient, Outpatient and Community basedhealth services to the communities across rural Canterbury, stretching from theRangitata river in the South to the Clarence River in the North including theChatham Islands. The area has anapproximate population of 250,000 people outside of the urban Christchurcharea, with Ashburton Hospital, 5 rural community hospitals and an integratedhealth centre.
Rural healthservices employ around 550 full time and part time staff, which includesclinical workforces in allied health, medicine, nursing and assistants withextensive experience in a wide range of clinical situations.
This role willinvolve providing physiotherapy to the community hospitals and integratedHealth Centre using a mixed model of deliver including in-person, telehealthand delegation as well as providing some outpatient clinics. You would be partof a small team of rural generalists and physiotherapists who work together toprovide a services to the rural communities.
Travel will beinvolved in this role, this will mostly be within your standard working hours,approximately 4-5 times a year you will be expected to travel for a week (Monto Fri) to the Chatham Islands. All travel will be funded from your base.
This role is paidon the Rural generalist scale step 9-13 of the PSA MECA (or equivalent)
