The Centre for Sustainability is a well-established research unit with a supportive, vibrant team culture. Externally funded research programmes and postgraduate students are the key focus of the Centre.
The role/Te mahi
This role provides proactive coordination and administration of research portfolios and research grants, and supports the University to meet its obligation to research funders and collaborators.
You will work closely with another Senior Research Administrator, research staff, the Research and Enterprise Office, including Business Development Officers, as an administrative conduit for external funding delivery.
This is a varied role, including travel bookings, student budgets, health and safety, progress reporting, admission and completion processes, maintaining eVision records, organizing events, employment contracting, property requests, new staff and student inductions.
Key tasks of the role include:
• Providing proactive coordination and research administration support for grant proposal and grant management activities to researchers.
• Responding and attending to enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Supporting postgraduate student administration.
• Developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships, to deliver services that provide an outstanding customer experience.
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
Successful candidates will have:
• Experience working within the tertiary sector.
• Experience in the administration of research programmes or schemes.
• Strong communication skills.
• 3+ years of experience working in a busy and/or complex administration role where high levels of customer service delivery are expected.

This is a permanent, part time (0.6FTE / 22.5 hours) role, located in Dunedin.
This role has a job-sharing arrangement with another Senior Research Administrator (0.6FTE).
The salary level for this position is provisionally evaluated as Level 5 and is subject to change.
