Planning and Reporting Team
The Me Heke Ki Pôneke is one of New Zealand's major metropolitan local authorities. It helps support the economy, environment and quality of life in Wellington city. This role supports Me Heke Ki Pôneke in achieving its community objectives and the development of Wellington as a city - where people like to live, work and play.
The Planning and Reporting Team is a busy, friendly, joined-up and influential Corporate Planning and Reporting team working across the Council. It is responsible for leading and developing the Long-term and Annual Plans and associated community engagement and internal business planning inputs. This includes and the tracking of Council and city-wide performance.

The role
We are looking for a skilled and professional Senior Advisor to join the Me Heke Ki Pôneke Wellington City Council's Corporate Planning and Performance team.
You will be part of bringing the Council and City's performance story to life by ensuring the right information is available and presented in a timely and meaningful way, both within Me Heke Ki Pо̄neke, and to the people of Wellington.
You will join an agile team and have the opportunity to work across the entire organisation, as well as supporting Ngā Amokura (our Senior Leaders). This role contributes to our strategic priorities, performance stewardship by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Councils Long Term Plan including annual planning. You will lead your work programme from start to finish in a flexible and supportive team culture with a reputation for delivery.
The work has variety, interest and challenge. Our approach to work is responsive, practical with a 'can do' focus. Working collaboratively and taking opportunities to improve our delivery is important.
So who are we looking for?
We are wanting to hear from those corporate reporting professionals wanting to step into an active, hands-on, meaningful role at Wellington City Council.
You may have come from a 'senior' role elsewhere or perhaps have experience working across various organisations, who is ready to step into a senior role. This role would be an easy transition if you have worked in local government, but we are equally open to hearing from those with from other public sector or private organisations. Either way you'll bring a relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience working in business reporting and organisational performance.
You'll be someone who has initiative, is agile and always seeking ways to increase efficiencies and be innovative around the way we work. You'll also need great influencing skills to enable collaboration with the team, wider Council and our partners to improve operations where there are clear benefits.
