You will be the primary point of contact for the business in relation to all legal queries, including commercial, corporate, procurement, ESG and IT.Our people and customers are at the heart of everything we do. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, Sustainability, and the Environment are part of our DNA.State of the art facilities in a fast paced and dynamic industry.Access to medical cover, discounted national holiday homes and retailer discounts.The possibility of career development to become General Counsel of Team Global Express in New Zealand.This role will be responsible for providing legal support and advice across our business nationally, consistent with our Group Policies, and with the aim of achieving the Team Global Express Group strategy.This will include:Working with our Legal Consultant (contracting) in relation to the provision of a broad range of legal advice to senior management and business unit leaders to ensure that business unit activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, risks are identified and appropriately managed, and our rights are protected.Providing pro-active, sound and commercially-focused legal support and advice to senior management and business unit leaders.Protecting our legal and financial interests and meeting our commercial objectives when negotiating, advising on, drafting and reviewing agreements.Supporting the Chief Legal Officer (Australia) and team in the delivery of the Legal strategic plan.Ensuring corporate governance rules and processes are maintained and followed.Enhancing and develop processes and procedures for the efficient provision of legal services.We are looking for a seasoned legal counsel with experience in stakeholder management including executives and customers, to provide effective leadership to the business and to have oversight of the delivery of legal advice from external providers.Additionally, you will have:A degree in Law and be admitted as a solicitorA current legal practising certificate in NZ (or the ability to obtain one)At least 8 years’ PQE working in a relevant legal capacity Experience Identifying and implementing strategic and efficiency projectsThe ability to prioritise work in accordance with business importance; meet deadlines in short time frames and under pressureStrong commercial contract experience, excellent negotiation and drafting skillsExcellent communication skills with ability to communicate to people in a range of positionsThe ability to work as part of a team, as well as autonomouslyA high level of professionalism and discretion.Me pēhea te tono: How to apply?This is a great opportunity to join a company that is going places, so express your interest today.Pre-employment checks will include a Ministry of Justice check and reference checking.All applicants must hold the legal right to work in New Zealand.
