Senior Project Accountant/Team Lead (Engineering Firm) – Remote (East Coast Preferred) Job Type: Professional Services Accounting and Finance Other Professional Positions Employment Category: Direct Hire Our client, a highly successful and rapidly-expanding engineering firm with operations throughout the East Coast, is actively recruiting for an exceedingly competent financial professional, with particular expertise in Project Accounting and Billing , to assume key role on it Financial Management team. This firm, which specializes in environmental engineering and construction solutions, has 100s of clients across the US, primarily in utilities and municipalities. Accounting for all projects, and related billings, can be complex and voluminous . The Senior Project Accountant will manage the largest and most complex accounts as well as train and mentor less experienced staff . This is a critical role and compensation will be generous . Key Things to Note: This is a remote position . Client is targeting candidates from East or Central time zones. Invoices for services are exceedingly complex, some involving 100s of pages . Seek candidate with deep expertise in billing for professional services, ideally engineering, construction, architecture or other similar industries. Monthly billing will be approximately $2.5 million dollars for this position alone, high volume billing experience will be needed. This is a highly interactive role. The Accounting Staff will regularly work with the Project Teams to verify billing data, resolve discrepancies, monitor progress, etc. Seek candidate whose analytical and organizational skills are complemented by strong communication and collaboration skills. The firm uses Deltek Vantagepoint software and related experience will be important. Selected Duties: Train and guide members of the Project Accounting team Manage the Project Opening processes to ensure all projects are opened accurately and timely Prepare and send accurate invoices in a timely matter using client-specific formatting Troubleshoot billing issues; handle escalated issues as needed Engage Project Managers/Teams on complex or sensitive matters Coordinate with Subconsultants to ensure their invoices are accurate and meet clients' requirements Review Accounts Receivable and assist in collection efforts. Assist Project Managers and Project Accounting staff with any Deltek, client billing or project set up issues Targeted candidate will offer a related financial degree and 5+ years of Project Accounting and Billing experience including some experience supervising or training others. Experience in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry expected and important. Other priorities include: Familiarity with Deltek software Proactive management style Strong organizational and project management skills Outstanding analytical skills Keen attention to detail Professional, calm and engaging communication style Excellent computer skills including MS Office, PDF and Windows applications Prior work from home experience will be required This is a Direct Hire position and an immediate need.
