Engineering - Software (Information & Communication Technology) As a Senior Software Engineer in Test at Arlo, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining tools that will enable Arlo to accelerate software delivery, enhance quality, and achieve continuous integration and deployment objectives effectively. Ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the design, implementation, and execution of automated test suites. You will work closely with software engineers, product owners, quality engineers and other stakeholders to create a Quality First Culture across the organisation. Identifying test requirements, creating test plans, and developing automated tests that validate both functional and non-functional aspects of Arlo applications. This involves collaborating extensively to understand the business objectives, and technical requirements and determine the best way to verify the solution. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, test suites and custom scripts/tools to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability. Drive automation efficiencies and coverage effectiveness using different automation frameworks, tools and techniques. Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and work with engineers to resolve them. Build automation tools and scripts to enhance overall productivity in testing, i.e. streamline test data management, facilitate environment setup and teardown. Collaborate with software engineers to advocate for code quality and testability by involving in the early stages of development. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and planning sessions to ensure testability and maintainability of software applications. Document build tool configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting guidelines to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across engineering teams. Mentor quality engineers and software engineers on automation best practices. Act as backup to quality engineer when required. Experience At least 5+ years of experience in software development and testing. Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, test design principles, and testing best practices. Solid understanding of Web platforms including HTTP, REST, Debugging basics Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with AWS, Docker, API development, and CI/CD experience is advantageous. A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to and accept other approaches. Results-driven mentality, self-motivated, enthusiastic and with a can do attitude. Comfort in a dynamic environment where you need to move quickly and wear many hats. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Work productively with minimum supervision while showing excellent team attitude.
