· Develop your skills on this sheep and beef station· 10,000 stock units comprising of sheep and beef on a 1,100ha eff property· 3-bedroom house or 2 bedroom single quarters with Fiordland National Park nearbyJoin New Zealand's largest farming organisation and develop and grow your skillset supported by the Farm Manager.The OpportunityThis is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to gain further experience in the sheep and beef industry. You'll be exposed to all of the usual duties for a sheep and stud bull farm with plenty of opportunities to learn pasture management and use the latest technology.This role sits under a supportive Farm Manager who endorses career development by growing your knowledge and understanding of farm systems.The FarmClose to Manapouri, Duncraigen Farm is an 1100 ha (effective) property with the Waiau River and Fiordland National Park on its boundaries. Duncraigen Station is a stud Angus bull breeding farm supplying all the Angus bulls to Pamu's South Island properties, using an all grass wintering system. Duncraigen has 10,000 stock units including 650 calving beef cows, 3400 breeding ewes mated to a terminal with all progeny finished on farm and 1200 Replacement ewe lambs.About YouThis is an excellent opportunity for a Shepherd who is keen to learn and take on responsibilities for the day-to-day tasks of stockwork and general work in a supportive team environment.You will also have:· Experience as a Shepherd General· At least two workable dogs· Attention to detail· Commitment to ongoing learning· Effective communication· Commitment to high standards of quality and safety· Current full NZ driver's licenceBenefitsWe offer a competitive salary package, as well as ongoing training and personal development to help you reach your personal and career goals.
