We are looking for a dynamic project manager for a fixed term role to drive and deliver the ‘Streets for People' Project for Whanganui District Council.

About the role:
This is a fixed term role of up to 10 months (to May 2024 ) to project manage Whanganui District Council's ‘Streets for People' projects (on Guyton and St Hill Streets)
Working in a welcoming, supportive, busy, fun team environment, based in the heart of Whanganui, this is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the community while growing your project management experience in local government.
The primary function of this role is to deliver Whanganui District Council's ‘Streets for People' projects (on Guyton and St Hill Streets) a community-led project, ensuring an approach in which all participants have equal voices at the table and the end result reflects their needs and ideas as much as possible.
This process worked well with the ‘Innovating Streets' project on Drews Avenue in 2021 - serving as an award-winning example of how co-design can achieve something that is high quality and uniquely local while still fulfilling the requirements of adaptive urbanism.
The successful candidate will take a stakeholder centric approach, partnering with Iwi/Hapū, Horizons District Council, Retailers, Waka Kotahi, Downers/Alliance, artists, the established small lead team and the community..
