The Invercargill City Council is currently looking for a Team Leader to oversee our passionate Parks Performance team and act as an ambassador for our premier parks and reserves.
Reporting to the Manager - Parks Performance, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the performance of Council's parks and reserves, monitoring and reporting on both assets and performance, delivering capital projects works; and ensuring effective relationship management with park users. You will actively promote the services offered by the Parks and Recreation Division, encouraging your team to do the same.
A tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Parks and Recreation Management along with demonstrated experience in managing assets in relation to Parks and Reserves is essential for this position. Experience and/or sound understanding of the Local Government sector is desirable but not essential.
You will have outstanding communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and initiative, be extremely well organised and have a proven passion for leading and developing people to bring out the best in your team. You'll also have demonstrated skills in engaging with the community, managing various scales of projects and a sound understanding of asset management.
