The role/Ngā mahi
As an Administrator Client Services, you will join a collaborative team, providing proactive administrative support to the Department of Biochemistry within the School of Biomedical Sciences.
Key tasks of this role include:
• Providing administrative support to the Head of Department - diary management, managing correspondence, triaging incoming email, drafting documents and providing policy and procedural advice.
• HR administration – managing recruitment and review processes and changes to staff employment details.
• Postgraduate administration – admissions, progress reporting, and thesis examinations.
As you will work collaboratively with other administrators you may also be engaged in a range of activities including meeting administration and other general administrative support for a large department.
This is a busy role in a supportive team, where your relationship building skills and administration expertise will be key to your success.

Successful candidates will have:
• Previous experience in a busy administration environment (preferably in a tertiary environment).
• A passion for customer service and ability to multitask.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• The ability to be adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

The Client Services team is a group of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

This is a full time (37.5 hours), fixed term (to July 2024), position, located in Dunedin.
Part-time hours may be negotiable (minimum 0.8FTE spread evenly across the working week).
