About the role

The Contract Manager will provide for an effective and efficient contract negotiation, management and advisory function across the Language Assistance Services Programme.  The Contract Manager will have a focus on continuous improvement and implementing robust guidelines and processes for the management of a number large collaborative contracts for language assistance services.  The Contract Manager will support the work of relevant Project Managers in the negotiation of contracts for the procurement of key services and activities which contribute to broader programme outcomes.   

Skills and experience required

We are keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in negotiating and managing collaborative and other contracts with a high number of agencies and panels of providers
  • Knowledge of and experience in New Zealand Government procurement rules and contracting
  • Highly developed relationship management and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of public sector requirements and processes
  • Ability to deal with new concepts and complexity comfortably

About the team

The Language Assistance Services Programme is a cross-government work programme to improve access to public services and information for people with limited English competence, such as refugees and migrants.

The programme is managed within the Refugee and Migrant Support team, in the Refugee and Migrant Services branch of Immigration New Zealand.
