Health & Safety and Compliance Ensure the plant operations fulfil obligations under New Zealand regulatory frameworks and processes are fully implemented, maintained, regularly reviewed and subject to on-going continuous improvement. Specifically, resource consent, Health and Safety Act requirements, domestic and international food safety regulations, company hygiene procedures, New Zealand Fisheries legislation, and manufacturing obligations. Provide leadership and ensuring the on-going day to day operations are compliant as per the relevant fisheries legislation, Ensure that fisheries compliance directives are complied with, and audit findings disseminated effectively, and recommended solutions followed Ensuring active team member participation in all Health and Safety obligations and activities, including regular H&S meetings are held, the on-going safety of workers, promoting a positive culture and well-being in the workplace and well as ensuring H&S systems are utilised. Ensure that all workplace injuries, incidents and near misses are reported accurately and as per PNFLP documented processes Supporting team members in the orientation, induction, and training of all relevant PNFLP policies and procedures and legal obligations Assists with maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, and training team members, maintaining a safe work environment, and developing personal growth opportunities Ensuring relevant leadership activities are followed, ensuring: Team members training records are up to date, Team members appraisals and performance reviews, Relevant SOP and PNF processes are understood and revisited if unclear, Management of team members performance including performance management and disciplinary processes Management of team members leave and working hours Ensuring adequate staff levels (including rostering activities) to cover for absences and peaks in workload Operational activities Effectively manage the day-to-day activities (landings, transfers, processing, and distribution activities) align to the resources are optimally utilised and that compliance is achieved across all functions of the operation including compliance integrity and transparency is maintained Plan, manage, delegate, and oversee activities (including maintenance programmes & vehicle management) to ensure the plant infrastructure is used to the best of its' ability while achieving the best quality standards and minimal downgrades/mortalities Ensuring: daily lobster landings, movements and processing activities are coordinated maximising revenue and product yield targets are achieved, (co-ordinating receipt, weigh-in, grading and sale of crayfish) quality checks of crayfish and water quality checks take place as required inventory Control Processes are kept in accordance with legislative requirements fulfilment of orders is delivered to the airport within time frames and associated documentation completed (Truck Driving may be required) plant and equipment (i.e., bio-filters, protein skimmers, blowers, ozone, oxygen and back-up power generators, tanks, monitoring and alarm system) are operating effectively and efficiently processing, packing and/or disposal of any non-suitable for export lobster takes place in accordance with PNF's requirements. Manage third party contract supply services within PNF Ensure all company assets (such as but not limited to vehicles) are appropriately secured when not tasked. Meet plant Key Performance Indicators and leadership of day-to-day issues which arise at the plant. Other aligned factory management tasks as required from time to time. Apply continuous improvement approach ensuring that all relevant processes (including plant management) are cost effective, fit for purpose, and meet customer and market standards and are within budget Enact and monitor plant KPIs in terms of budget Looks for sustainable solutions when dealing with suppliers / providers Comply with PNFLP appropriate policies including budget and delegations Relationship Management Developing enduring, professional relationships with key stakeholders and within the industry are created and maintained.
