About the role:

The Infrastructure Engineer looks after the day to day management of servers across the Payments Platform; including provisioning servers, daily management, vulnerability patching, certificate management, operational monitoring, supporting teams to deliver new customer capabilities, and looking ahead to think about how we can improve our DevOps capabilities.

This will include the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain our server environments on premises and in the cloud
  • Deploy new infrastructure as required
  • Certificate Management
  • SCCM/Security Patching
  • Automate where ever possible
  • Provide feedback on code (C#, Java) and architecture decisions
  • Work with SQL databases (MS, Oracle)
  • Maintain and host web (IIS, WebSphere) and messaging infrastructure (IBM MQ, Kafka)
  • Monitoring, alerting and reporting on environments

About you:

We’ll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and leadership skills as we look for every engineer to lead from their position.

With regards to background, you will need the following capabilities:

  • 3+ years’ experience administering systems, solving server performance issues and optimisation
  • Azure and CI/CD experience
  • Experience working with Agile and DevOps frameworks
  • Knowledge of virtualization and container technologies
  • An appreciation of the risks involved in running servers in a financial environment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
