Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the role is to establish robust commercial strategies and approaches to construction procurement, while providing effective risk management and promoting positive whole of life outcomes. Adopting a consistent approach to contracting with the market, in line with best practice to achieve efficient contract execution and management, to reduce conflict and dispute and to promote collaboration among delivery teams.
Note: Preference will be given to Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Wahi Ora candidates.
Mōu | About you
Together with the GM Procurement, you will develop a national infrastructure procurement strategy, and implement, and lead best practice commercial contract terms, and ensure the application of these are consistently applied across the regions. In conjunction with the Regions you develop and implement strategies and plans to lift the capability and capacity where required and provide assurance on procurement strategies and plans.

Success in this role will see you bring a good mix of specialist skills and experience not limited to:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant qualification eg. BSc, RICS, NZCQS Proven record managing a team of commercial/infrastructure construction subject matter experts Solid understanding and experience of commercial aspects of the NZS39XX, CCCS and other common industry contracts Experience in developing and implementing best practice systems, frameworks, guidelines, tools and templates Proven record of executive level negotiating with the ability to influence and understand options and alternatives that support the desired outcomes Proven commercial acumen and understanding of financial, contractual/legal and construction practices across all programme/project operations particularly in relation to complex vertical construction and infrastructure Ka kawea e koe | You will bring:
