About the role/Te mahi
This position will suit someone who enjoys working as a member of a busy and close-knit team in a multicultural environment. We are looking for a person with demonstrable sensitivity to people from a range of backgrounds. The appointee will contribute to the achievement of the University’s international goals by providing effective pastoral and non-academic support to international students.

The ideal candidate will need to have had experience of working closely with students/young adults and supporting them through challenging situations. Well-developed communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the capacity to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with a variety of people across the University, as well as externally.
Evidence of an ability to prioritise and exercise sound judgement, often under pressure, in all aspects of daily work is essential; while an understanding of the University of Otago’s academic and administrative requirements is desirable.
