Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity The Molecular HPV testing area is part of the cytology department at APS and has a high workload that covers qualitative and quantitative detection and genotyping on self collected vaginal swabs and Liquid based Cytology clinician collected samples for the detection of high risk human papailloma virus. This is a full time position Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work weekends dependent on workload. The Auckland DHB Anatomic Pathology Service (APS) provides community referred histology, non-gynaecological cytology, HPV testing and cervical cytology (ThinPrep) services for the greater Auckland region. Testing not performed at our laboratory in Mt Wellington is sent to the Auckland reference laboratory, LabPlus, Auckland City Hospital. To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills: Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) Experience in Molecular Biology or Molecualr Genetics Knowledge, experience, and understanding of Molecular Diagnostics methodologies Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills Strong attention to detail and time management with a focus on quality Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment We are a values based and inclusive organisation that is committed to deliver the best health outcomes for our total population.
