Role
This position is 42.5 hours a week, 1.0FTE . The successful Doctor will provide care to several clinics spread around the rural, farmland and mountainous areas outside Christchurch. Role includes lots of CL with GPs and visits to medical practices offering a degree of networking that is a necessary component when supporting our rural communities. You will use your specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver innovative care that meets each individual’s needs. You won’t be alone in your work as you play a leading role collaborating with an established multi-disciplinary team contributing towards the ongoing developer of client-centred support and treatment frameworks.

Essential Competencies Include:
Board certified in Psychiatry; Must have specialist skills that map to the needs of serving a rural population that includes farmers and others; Must be eligible for your provisional, vocational registration in Psychiatry; Got to be a strong team player who puts your clients and their whanau or extended family first and at the centre of everything you do; Able and willing to work independently, as appropriate; Able to develop new ways to work with clients and their families to improve outcomes; Must have a lovely personality with a smashing sense of humour!; Full driver’s license; Computer literacy; Able and willing to travel outside of Christchurch occasionally staying overnight in a small, rural community; Able to provide a clean and clear police clearance for your work visa and employer; Able to meet Immigration New Zealand’s health, police background check and other requirements for a work visa; and Able and willing to commit at least 12 months.
