Job Description

Role / Title

  • This is a Research and Development (R&D) Packaging technical role, in the Flavorful Hydration platform of the Kids, Snacks and Beverage BU. 
  • This position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to lead and execute packaging technical projects to meet business initiatives focused on growth, sustainability, brand maintenance and quality improvement. This includes understanding the business need, designing and executing tests, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, documenting, communicating results, and commercializing products. 
  • Proven communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role, which operates in a dynamic and cross-functional environment. The candidate must also have a technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations.
  • This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/ tasks concurrently with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must.

Key Components of the role

  • Work with cross functional teams, acting as packaging lead to drive execution across multiple projects primarily under the Capri Sun brand, within the Flavorful Hydration platform
  • Apply technical expertise to packaging development programs on materials ranging broadly across rigid, flexible, paperboard, corrugated and more against a wide variety of applications for Flavorful Hydration products
  • Manage multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives
  • Execute packaging development, testing, qualification, and commercialization while working closely with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments
  • Translate sustainability research findings into meaningful recommendations, communicating results and driving decisions and technology adoption
  • Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products
  • Specification creation and updating, with attention to detail
  • Act as technical/commercialization expert for junior developers and flex onto projects requiring problem solving

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Packaging, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Packaging Development or Research and commercialization (which can include graduate work and/or internships)
  • Expert understanding of packaging materials, functionality, qualification and commercialization of multiple packaging formats, design of experiments and ability to coach others in these areas
  • Excellent, proven communication, influencing, project/platform management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate others
  • Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize work for self and others.
  • Willingness to travel 40%
